Tree Planting Event at Garden Estate Secondary School

On Monday, 11th May 2026, we held a successful tree planting activity at Garden Estate Secondary School in partnership with Eco Resilience Network. The event marked another important step toward building a greener and more sustainable Kenya through community-driven environmental action.

Together, we planted 350 indigenous trees of various species alongside 50 fruit tree seedlings, contributing to ongoing efforts to restore the environment, improve biodiversity, and combat the effects of climate change. Tree planting plays a vital role in creating healthier communities by improving air quality, conserving water, preventing soil erosion, and providing habitats for wildlife. It is one of the simplest yet most impactful ways of protecting the environment for future generations.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day was the enthusiastic participation of the students. The school children actively joined in the planting exercise with remarkable energy, excitement, and teamwork, turning the activity into both a learning experience and a celebration of environmental care.

The activity also highlighted the importance of raising young climate champions. By involving students in hands-on environmental initiatives, we are nurturing a generation that understands the value of sustainability and the responsibility of protecting our planet. Empowering young people with knowledge and practical action helps shape future leaders who will continue driving positive environmental change in their communities.

As we planted each seedling, we were reminded that every tree represents hope, resilience, and a commitment to a healthier and more sustainable Kenya.
